Each year over 80,000 members throughout the nation do just that by getting involved in their community. Through service, compassion, and loving others they change their communities into better places to live.  Greenville, Alabama has the honor of having one of the best; Ms. Annie Clemmons or “Miss Annie” as everyone knows her.

The Corporation for National and Community Service announced $205 million in grants to support 43,000 AmeriCorps members who will serve through 288 organizations across the country.  These members will improve the lives of millions of citizens and make a powerful impact on the toughest challenges facing our nation.  While they serve others, AmeriCorps members will also expand opportunity for themselves - gaining skills, experience, and college money to jumpstart their careers.   Learn more about the 2014 AmeriCorps grants here.   Apply to AmeriCorps here.
